Church History
God’s Way Gospel Church was founded in 2010 by Pastor Eric L. Cunningham following a divine calling to pastoral ministry. The church's foundation was rooted in Pastor Cunningham’s deep commitment to serving the community and spreading the gospel.
Founding of the Church: In 2010, Pastor Cunningham received a divine calling to establish a new church. After discussing his vision with Bishop John L. Hilton and receiving his blessing, Pastor Cunningham, along with his wife Sylvia Cunningham, began the work that would lead to the founding of God’s Way Gospel Church. Deaconess Houston, his mother, played a crucial role in helping with the naming of the church. Despite starting with no members, Pastor Cunningham was reassured by God with the message, "You have five smooth stones in your hand; use them." This message symbolized the support and unity of his immediate family—himself, his wife Sylvia, and their three children, Eric, Elijah, and Ryckia—who became integral to the church's foundation. Eric and Elijah served as the first musicians, while Lady Sylvia and Ryckia contributed their voices to the choir.
First Gatherings and Establishment: The church held its first Bible study at the MLK Civic Center in East Cleveland. After three months, seeking a more permanent location, Pastor Cunningham found a space at Euclid Square Mall, a hub for new ministries. With the help of dedicated volunteers, they transformed a store unit into a welcoming place of worship. On January 30, 2011, Pastor Cunningham was ordained as an Elder and Pastor of God’s Way Gospel Church under Bishop John L. Hilton and the Christ Centered Fellowship of Churches at Euclid Square Mall.
Growth and Relocation: The church experienced continual growth, driven by Pastor Cunningham's powerful preaching and commitment to serving the community. In 2016, as Euclid Square Mall was closing, God led Pastor Eric and Lady Sylvia to the church's current location at 15501 Euclid Avenue in East Cleveland. Through prayer, fasting, and perseverance in city council meetings and zoning approvals, the church successfully established its new home.
Current and Future Vision: Today, God’s Way Gospel Church continues to serve the East Cleveland community with passion and dedication. Under Pastor Cunningham's leadership, the church remains a testament to faith, resilience, and unwavering commitment to spreading the gospel and serving the community.

What We Believe
Belief in the Triune God:
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Salvation through Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, and ascension, and that salvation is received through faith in Him alone.
Justification by Faith
We believe that justification is by grace through faith in Christ alone, and that those who receive Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, becoming children of God.Justification by Faith
The Church as the Body of Christ
We believe in the universal Church, the Body of Christ, composed of all believers, and in the local church as the visible expression of God's kingdom on earth.
The Great Commission
We believe in the universal Church, the Body of Christ, composed of all believers, and in the local church as the visible expression of God's kingdom on earth.
Authority of Scripture:
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative word of God, revealing His will for salvation and the ultimate guide for faith and life.
Humanity's Fallenness
We believe that humanity is sinful and separated from God, and salvation is available only through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit's Work
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who indwells believers, empowers them for service, and convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.
Baptism and Communion
We believe in believer's baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith in Christ and in the Lord's Supper as a commemoration of His sacrificial death and a proclamation of His imminent return.
The Second Coming:
We believe in the personal, visible, and imminent return of Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead and establish His eternal kingdom.
Bedrock Principles
God-Centered Worship
Our worship is centered on God, acknowledging His sovereignty, majesty, and holiness, as revealed in Scripture and experienced through His presence.
Biblical Authority
The Bible is the inspired and authoritative word of God, serving as our guide for faith and practice, shaping our beliefs, values, and decisions.
Compassionate Outreach
Following Jesus' example of compassion, we reach out to those in need, offering care, support, and practical assistance to alleviate suffering and bring hope to the hurting.
Service as Discipleship
Service is an integral part of discipleship, as we follow Jesus' example of servanthood, using our gifts, talents, and resources to serve others and advance God's kingdom on earth.
Prayer as Communication with God
Prayer is our communication with God, a vital aspect of our relationship with Him, through which we seek His guidance, strength, and presence in our lives and in the world.
Christ-Centered Salvation
We believe in Jesus Christ as the only Savior and Redeemer, who through His death and resurrection offers forgiveness of sins and eternal life to all who believe in Him.
Love as the Greatest Commandment
Love is the greatest commandment, demonstrated in God's love for us and exemplified by Jesus Christ. We are called to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Community as Family
We believe in the importance of Christian community as a family of faith, where members support, encourage, and bear one another's burdens, fostering unity, fellowship, and belonging.
Mission and Evangelism
We are called to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others, inviting them to experience the life-transforming power of His love and grace.
Spiritual Growth and Discipleship
We are committed to spiritual growth and discipleship, nurturing individuals in their journey of faith, equipping them for ministry, and empowering them to become mature followers of Christ.
